SSDI and SSI

SSDI stands for Social Security Disability Insurance. It is paid for out of the FICA taxes deducted from your paycheck. To qualify for SSDI benefits, you must provide the Social Security Administration (SSA) with documentation proving you have a qualifying mental or physical disability, or a combination of disabilities, that makes it impossible for you to work. Also, your condition must have lasted at least 12 months or be expected to last at least 12 months.

SSI stands for Supplemental Security Income. It is a needs-based program that offers financial assistance to the blind, elderly, children and disabled individuals who do not qualify for SSDI because of a lack of work history. The rules for qualification are the same as those for SSDI. To qualify for SSI benefits, your income must fall below a certain level.

Guidance And Counsel You Can Trust

The process for obtaining Social Security Disability benefits can be complex, time-consuming and frustrating. The majority of initial applications are denied, often because applicants do not provide the proper documentation to substantiate the scope and severity of their disability. The most important thing you can do to help your claim succeed is to hire an experienced Montgomery SSDI lawyer who can help you navigate the process and build the strongest case possible.

Many of our clients suffer from chronic pain and fatigue and have encountered obstacles to getting the disability benefits to which they are entitled. Backed by more than 30 years of legal experience, attorney Arthur Leslie can help you obtain thorough documentation of your disabling condition and the way it impairs your ability to work.

If you have no medical insurance or you cannot afford a doctor, we can connect you with medical professionals who can help you get the care you deserve. If your claim has been denied, we can protect your rights and interests throughout the appeals process and the required court proceedings.
